Local Storyteller Beth Ohlsson takes us to that "Once Upon a Time" place with her words. This free 45 minute program at The Main Library is for those who seek to discover traditional folktales and fairy tales. Ages 6 and older.

Kids after School Pottery
Art Institute & Gallery, 212 W. Main Street, Salisbury, Maryland (Runs through: 03/19/2012)
Beginner projects will include animal sculptures, mugs, bowls, and instruments with an introduction to the potter's wheel. Advanced students will have more time on the wheel. Students are encouraged to explore their own imaginations, create projects, and work at their own speed. Students practice techniques including pinch, coil, slab and wheel throwing. Students will decorate with glaze or paint.Instructors Sarah Halcott & Robert Johnson.

Blooming Artist Youth Show
Art Institute & Gallery, 212 W. Main Street, Salisbury, Maryland (Runs through: 03/09/2012)
Open to children in the Delmarva Region. Students may submit 1 entry in either Preschool-K, Elementary or Middle School category. High School students may submit up to 2 entries. Prizes and ribbons awarded plus the High School winner will receive a Foyer Gallery solo exhibition in 2013. No entry fees - students do not have to be in a formal art program, home schoolers welcome. Any sales - all proceeds benefit the child artist.

With Kathy MacMillan - Warm up your fingers and your toes, and learn basic signs through joyful stories, music, and activities. This movement based program will teach little ones and their parents basic sign language in an upbeat setting. Children 4 and up.

A Pancake Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Rayne's Reef, wonderful workshops available for the children and then hop on down to the Taylor House Museum for an Eggstravaganza Hunt. There will be Easter-time music, face painting and pony rides. A highlight is always the Easter Bonnet Parade.

Learn to Play the Violin

This program is an educational outreach program of the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra. They have provided 10 violins in half and three-qurter sizes. During the 5 classes, children will have the chance to learn a beginning song such as Bingo, or Mary Had A Little Lamb. They will also have a chance to play rhythm and improv games with the violin while learning to work with one another in an orchestra! Children 9 years and older.
