Assateague Coast to Coast

Time: 8-11 a.m. Location: Assateague Island National Seashore Cost: $25 per person (park entry fee included)
Assateague Island National Seashore will serve as the site for a 3-hour guided hike in search of wings and withers. Discover egrets, willets, herons, towhees, warblers, vireos and wild horses on this beach-to-bay walk across one of the East Coast's most beautiful barrier islands.
Directions:
From Ocean City: Take Rt. 50 West to Rt. 611. Follow Rt. 611 onto Assateague Island. Follow signs for the National Seashore. After passing through fee collection booth, proceed to the last parking lot (the road will dead end). Guide will meet you in the parking lot.
From Ocean City (north): Take Rt. 90 West to Rt. 113 South. Follow to Rt. 376 East. You will see signs at the traffic light for Rt. 611. Follow until the road ends and turn right onto Rt. 611. Follow signs for the National Seashore. After passing through fee collection booth, proceed to the last parking lot (the road will dead end). Guide will meet you in the parking lot.
From Points West: Take Rt. 50 East to Rt. 707 (just before Ocean City) Turn right onto Rt. 707 to Rt. 611. Turn right and follow Rt. 611 onto Assateague Island. Follow signs for the National Seashore. After passing through fee collection booth, proceed to the last parking lot (the road will dead end). Guide will meet you in the parking lot.
