Thursday - April 26
 
Birds of Bombay Hook
Delaware's most famous birding hot spot, Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge offers a cornucopia of birding opportunities - from salt marsh and bay beach to freshwater ponds and rich, deciduous woodlands. We'll sample each of the main habitat types looking for migrants and local breeders, including wading birds, shorebirds, rails, and colorful songbirds. The trip will involve some easy walking, and car caravans between major stops. (After the trip, meet at Sambo's dockside seafood restaurant in nearby Leipsic for a great lunch with your fellow birders!) DuPont Nature Center at Mispillion Harbor
Search for migratory shorebirds, wading birds and waterfowl along Slaughter Beach, and learn about the connection between horseshoe crabs and shorebirds at the new DuPont Nature Center.

Chesapeake Beach Birding
Bird within view of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge at Queen Anne County's Terrapin Beach Nature Park. Beaches, ponds, fields and forests are home to migratory shorebirds, wading birds and colorful songbirds. Cape Birding Escape
Cape Henlopen State Park provides opportunities to view migratory raptors and shorebirds including the endangered piping plover, as well as residents such as the brown-headed nuthatch. Come prepared to explore ocean dunes, tidal flats, maritime forest, and the park's World War II history. Birds of the Delaware Bay Coast
The Delaware Bay shoreline and its adjacent uplands offer the most diverse birding opportunities in southern Delaware - from salt marsh and bay beach to freshwater ponds and rich, deciduous woodlands. We'll sample each of the main habitat types looking for migrants and local breeders, including wading birds, shorebirds, rails, and colorful songbirds like prairie and prothonotary warblers, and scarlet tanagers. The trip will involve some easy walking, and car caravans between major stops. Meet at the entrance to the Rookery Golf Course. Don't miss the 5 p.m. tally rally at Dogfish Head Restaurant in nearby Rehoboth Beach!

Warblermania!
Meet your guide at the Ward Museum and caravan to Nassawango Creek to search for prothonotary, worm-eating, and prairie warblers, and other birds of the cypress swamp. Wings Over Williams’ Point
Williams' Point, near Shelltown, provides opportunities to view warblers, raptors, and wading birds. Come prepared to explore the coastal marshes of the Pocomoke Sound Wildlife Management Area and the Chesapeake Bay. Eagles and Others
Explore the diverse habitats of Pemberton's trail system to view songbirds, wading birds, raptors, and the nesting area of breeding bald eagles. Assateague Coast to Coast
Assateague Island National Seashore will serve as the site for a 3-hour guided hike in search of wings and withers. Discover egrets, willets, herons, towhees, warblers, vireos and wild horses on this beach-to-bay walk across one of the East Coast's most beautiful barrier islands.
Sunday - April 29
 
Warblermania!
Warblermania! will take place Sunday from 6-11 a.m. Meet your guide at the Ward Museum and caravan to Nassawango Creek to search for prothonotary, worm-eating, and prairie warblers, and other birds of the cypress swamp. Meandering Meadows
Stroll along some 150 acres of former farmstead regenerating to meadows, scrub-shrub habitat, wetlands, and woodland. Good opportunities to hear and see hawks, eagles, field sparrows, cedar waxwings, wood ducks, prairie warblers, yellow-breasted chats, and northern bobwhite, among others. Be prepared for wet, but not flooded, walking trails. Newport Farms Diversity Walk
Saunter through old pines and oaks for some of the best forest species habitat on Delmarva. The 2,000-acre Newport Farms will reveal her secrets during this three-hour walk through private land protected with a conservation easement in 2002. A 50-acre shallow pond on the farm harbors nesting bald eagles, wood ducks, and wading birds. Birding Delaware Seashore State Park
Take a trip from ocean to bay during this van-based birding excursion around Delaware Seashore State Park. Participants will bird from various locations in the park including the mature uplands of Thompsons Island Nature Preserve, several beach sites, and the expansive shallows and marshes of Rehoboth and Indian River Bays. We will also make stops to bird the famous Indian River Inlet area to look for rare gulls, terns, and waterbirds as well as a quick trip back to the Burton's Island Trail. Expect to see shorebirds, wading birds, waterfowl, gulls, migrating songbirds, and nesting osprey. Delaware’s Coastal Birding Delights
Explore Assawoman Wildlife Area's coastal bays, ponds, and forests. Possibilities include brownheaded nuthatches, waterfowl, wading birds, and bald eagles. Coastal Delaware is a birder's paradise. Meet your guide at Quiet Resorts Visitor Center, Fenwick-Bethany Chamber of Commerce.

Chesapeake Hoots
Explore the forests and marshes of the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center in search of resident owls, rails and other denizens of the dark. This trip offers a guided hike through fields, forests, and wetlands.
Friday - April 27
 
Owl Prowl at Pickering Creek Audubon Center
Explore the trails of Pickering Creek Audubon Center in search of barred, Great horned and screech owls and other nocturnal creatures. We will visit mature hardwood forest, wetland and field edge habitats. Seventy-five acres of marsh also promise a variety of singing amphibians.
Saturday - April 28
 
Assateague at Dusk
Assateague Island National Seashore will serve as host for a trip along the "Life of the Dunes Trail." Listen for rails, chuck-will's-widows, and an owl or two. Wild sounds of ocean surf, pine trees, and the stars above serve as a backdrop. Bring a flashlight. Night Birds of the Marsh
Tour the E.A. Vaughn Wildlife Management Area near Girdletree, MD. Seek out least bitterns, rails, marsh wrens, and maybe even some owls. Bring a flashlight and boots or shoes you won't mind getting wet. Meet behind the Snow Hill Library. Owl Prowl at Pemberton
Explore the trails of Pemberton Historical Park in search of resident owls and other nocturnal creatures. This trip offers a guided hike through pine and hardwood forests and wetlands.
