Experience the joy of paint in this class. Bring photos of a chosen subject as reference for your painting. Learn to use only what is important to you in the photo and to leave out what is not. Learn methods to scale up from a photo reference, identify the center of interest and use color and texture to interpret your vision. Focus will be on composition, color and painting techniques. February 13, 2012 - Adult Pottery Class

Class for all levels discusses where you want to take your pottery. Beginners will create simple cylinders on the wheel and turn them into mugs. Students will be guided to make beautiful functional ware or artistic non-functional forms depending on the individual. Decorate pieces with food safe/microwave safe under-glaze or glaze. Beginner projects will include animal sculptures, mugs, bowls, and instruments with an introduction to the potter's wheel. Advanced students will have more time on the wheel. Students are encouraged to explore their own imaginations, create projects, and work at their own speed. Students practice techniques including pinch, coil, slab and wheel throwing.
